Recruiting in 2020....

There is a lot of recruits decommiting at this time. This will continue until the coaching carousel stops. The reason: Without recruits being able to visit campuses and coaches not being able to visit recruits, it is all about previous relationships. 70% of the time a recrhit will stay with the coach and commit to the school said coach is at now. Another reason Hall was such a good choice was that he was over recruitment for Tulane in South Mississippi. These next 8 days are going g to be a wild ride.

Basketball Presser 12/8

Ladner:

Takeaways from William Carey: We showed improvement on defense, looked more relaxed, offensive execution and chemistry was better. We did a better job pushing the ball down the court.
Everyone will be available for tomorrow's game. There is a standard that of grades and excellence that will be met and everyone is meeting those. We got young players and those are things that have to be taught. Pinkney is still in concussion protocol and it will be game time decision. Jaakson is good to go.
This team, when everyone is a go, has 12 guys that can score and start.
Gabe situation: I never had an issue with Gabe, the message I got was he wanted to play on a bigger stage.
I want guys who want to be at Southern Miss, we want guys who are all in here.
Tulane likes to press and has a very unique style to prepare for. They like to play a match-up zone and traps, and try to catch you off guard. It is not a traditional zone, it makes it difficult to attack things. They want you to take quick early shots. We have to show patients and take shots we want to take, not what shots Tulane wants u to take tomorrow.
Will be important to not start like we did against Jacksonville. Defense will have to set the tone for us.
Having Hardy and Malone on the floor at the same time helps us break the press.

Breaking!!! J-Eagle re-surfaces...

It appears my subscription to Rivals, which I thought would end in November, is still in force, so I thought I would take advantage and post some thoughts:

I have been an angry and frustrated Southern Miss football fan and supporter for quite some time now, but that was not always the case. Circumstances led me into a very negative outlook, to the point of predicting our demise from Div.1 football. I'm not sure that's not still on the horizon, but there's a reason to have a slight glimmer of hope. That reason would be Will Hall. Completely and unequivocally.

I listened to his interview on Bo Bounds' show that was posted here by Heath, I believe. I also read the article from Sports Illustrated.

I am saying here, now, that if this program cannot be resurrected by Will Hall, it is beyond resurrection and will die to some other form.

I'm hoping he can do it and will support him best I can.

That is all.

Will Hall Interview Sceduled For Thursday....

I have a physical therapy appointment at 12:30. A big thank you to Jack Duggan for helping me with this and working around my physical therapy. One thing is for sure, through all that I have been through in the past 6 months, I could not have asked for better help than what Southern Miss athletics has helped me in scheduling interviews. So next time you see Jack Duggan or David Cohen, or Jeremy, thank them for me and you all as well.

12/7 Post Practice Interview

Billings:

Really excited for these guys. They have been here, fought adversity, been in the foxhole with each other.
This is a year and team I will never forget.
We have been able to get healthy the past few weeks. Right now we are fairly healthy for this time of the year and have some depth.
Tate will not play Thursday.
The coaching staff has been great and has not given up.
FAU will play 2 QB's. One is more of a scrambler than the other. We have to no give up the big play.
We have to put ourselves in a position to win the football game.
