Baseball and Football Broadcast Over the Years.

Back in 1974, when I moved to Memphis, there was no way to listen to a ball game of any kind in this area. A few years later, I learned a football game could be patched over the phone line for $50. That was how I listened to games until the internet when I could listen to them. Today I can WATCH games through it. Tonight baseball and basketball. That has to be a first.

Does the Southern Miss WBB team have a shot at any postseason play this year?

In their favor, they finished the regular season in a 3-way tie for 1st place in the Sunbelt. Not in their favor is a NET ranking of 186. After the NCAA women's tournament gets its 64 teams, the WNIT gets 64 teams. 32 of those WNIT bids are automatic qualifiers consisting of the highest-seeded or ranked team in each conference. That leaves Southern Miss tied with Texas State as far as conference standing. My best guess is that Texas state will get the automatic WNIT bid base on being the #2 seed in the conference tournament, winning all 3 games vs Southern Miss, and having a higher NET ranking of 150. After that, there are 32 at-large bids left for the WNIT and the 8-team WBI to be played in Lexington, KY.

What is your favorite Southern Miss memorabilia

I have a few pretty cool items, but here are my favorites......

1. A few days after I got home from the hospital from losing my leg, I recieved a signed football from the team. Coach Hop signed it and wrote a very nice and kind message on it. That football will always be special to me.

2. I have a Favre autographed mini helmet that was a special limited edition from the year they beat FSU in the Gator Bowl.
