What is the issue at the plate this season with Southern Miss?

There has been zero improvement this season. How many times can a Golden Eagle be 0-2 or 1-2 in a count? Troy walked 11 guys today and why not? With RISP this group gets nervous or something. 5th and 6th year players batting on or below the Mendoza line. That shouldn't happen. What are your thoughts?

Spoke to Berry about cancelation last night...

The officials were approached the coaches at the end of the 3rd inning and told both Berry and Bianco that the field was almost unplayable and they were gonna give it one more inning to see if the field was bad in other spots than down the base lines. Once the Ole Miss pitcher slipped and even Etzel had issues running to 1st base, the officials decided to call it. It wasn't Ole Miss or USM that stopped the game, it was the officials.

OT: Men’s basketball

FAU in the Final Four for NCAA championship.

Both UAB and North Texas in the NIT finals for the the championship.

C-USA is a better basketball league than I gave credit.

Jay Ladner’s team won the conference and had to go on the road to UAB in the NIT first round and got obliterated in the second half. UAB was built like a power house NCAA tournament team and finished second in the conference tournament to FAU. They were snubbed by the committee. This is one year that the basketball tournament pickers made glaring errors in judgment.

Basketball is so much of a portal game and we have a real shot if Ladner and Cardona can keep getting great transfers.

I believe in Coach Ladner!

Southern Miss-MSU 1986

Great game Eagles Shelton Gandy scores on a third down play with 29 seconds left no time outs trailing by 3 points. In other words doubtful they could have run field goal team onto field, set up and successfully converted if Gandy had not scored on the pitch sweep to the left all the way to the goal line cone. Wow great game. I was exhausted.

Sept. 20, 1986: USM 28, Mississippi State 24.
State led 24-21 with under four minutes remaining when USM got the ball at its own 2-yard-line. The late Keith Daniels, USM’s offensive coordinator at the time, called all 18 plays of the drive that ended with Shelton Gandy scoring the winning touchdown. Afterward, an emotionally drained Daniels sobbed as he talked about the winning drive, which really was one of the best these eyes ever witnessed.

Possible Baseball Suspensions...

Scott Berry said on the Eagle Hour that there are NCAA rules that says players leaving the bench or their position on the field will be suspended for the next game. They are awaiting the Sun Belt Conference to see if suspensions will take place. When benches clear, who would be left at that point? They suspended players Saturday and IMO that should be enough.

Spring Scrimmage Updates..

All 3 QB's shined. Wiles is still dealing with an abdomen injury. I have a feeling Wiles or Edwards will eventually start and they will look to redshirt Wilcke as he will the #3 amd pray they don't need him.

OL looked much better and created some good runs and pass pro was much better.

WR and RB were all solid. Not to many dropped passes at all. Zay Franks at WR is going to be good and the transfer RB Clark from Memphis shined.

Defense was a mixed bag. Half of the starters are out. Bozeman, Maples, Williams, and Carr, and Newsome are out with injures. Rowland got a sack but that was about it. Nothing special in the secondary and they didn't stop many passes. That group will battle right up to the 1st game.

Just some observations someone was able to get me from the scrimmage.
