My Football and Basketball Predictions.

As some of you remember, I predicted we would have eight wins before the past football season. Many thought I had been smoking the devil's tobacco, while others blew it off as insanity. I came up short, but the miscalculation resulted from a wrong decision regarding our starting QB. We might have had the eight wins if Hall had gone with the more experienced Lowe.

Now for the basketball prediction. I think it was early in the year after the Vanderbilt game; I said we would only lose five games for the rest of the season. Again folks thought I was one bead short of a Rosary. As with the football prediction, people cried foul and began to tear their garments, but the old master held steadfast to his word. We lost 6.

I will have the football preseason prediction for next year after Spring practice. Stand by.

Softball 9-1 best start in program history… who’s following?!!

What a season this team has started off with! We all know pitching is a concern, but let’s talk offense?!! The offense of this team has improved dramatically. Not just from our seasoned starters but also our newcomer freshman to cold off the bench! Borden and Ditty with a 2-4 start on the weekend, Agren with a 3 run hit and freshman Gordon cold Off the bench with a 3 run blast! Mo with her 300th strikeout of her career tonight as well! If you’ve not made it to a game you are missing out, these girls are so much fun to watch and they don’t give up! They fight until the end!

As a parent I can’t say enough on the change of environment from Coach Poole and Coach A compared to last year. She’s not afraid to make changes, utilize the talent, small ball and hit for power! She is using all her talent to win these ball games and her players are 100% behind her. Get out and support this team you won’t regret it!

Mel Kiper Big Board

Brownlee is #12 wideout. For reference, 28 wideouts were drafted in 2022. The 10 year average is 32. Some guys are locks to be in front of him, others, if he measures tests well he could move up (or down if he doesn’t).

Natrone Brooks is #7 returner. He’ll probably have to show that he can contribute as a DB and as a special teams coverage guy to get drafted or make a roster.

No Malik Shorts. Hope he does well at *pro* day.

OT: Illinois NIL opportunities links

I haven’t seen this previously.
Illinois is linking their ball players to available revenue. Cool
Idea

If you want to get Cal Hejza to do stuff for you as a fan, you can put some NIL money in his pocket.
