A friend of mine who worked with Burroughs and Berry under Corky said that he talked to Burroughs after the game. Come to find out, the Ump and Burroughs actually know each other. He said Burroughs told the Umpire to eject him. Not a word for word quote, but he said that he was tired of watching this sh**! Lol. He said that trying to get us out 1-6 reminded him of the Cook/King era... Ejections are one of my favorite parts of baseball

has anyone seen the 4-5 minute baseball game highlight videos that did all last year? I thought those were great but haven't seen any this year and was just curious

Just saw interview of John Cox with Jay, and was very pleased that he was specific in saying that Southern Miss is where he wants to be, and there will be no more moving for him. Won't it be great for the old (and young) long time, die hard supporters of Southern Miss if Jay is very successful here and is here for the long haul. Look at all of the good and great years when we have cheered, along with the years that we have felt (and were) defeated mainly because of having to constantly exchange a very successful coach with a "hopeful" one. I feel that Southern Miss had finally found another Jeff Bower who will lead us to even higher goals in Southern Miss football. Count me in!

I guess all of the other games in the tournament went long as i do not think there was rain in Gulfport today.

Believe it is April 23--naturally the weekend of my 50th HS reunion.
Haven't been to a reunion in last 25 years but need to be at this one cause my classmates are getting old and dying too fast. Obviously I haven't aged and will look like the youngest one there

I would like to see Southern Miss play in this baseball tournament sometime. I read in the Houston newspaper that they are going to get away from having Rice and UH play in it every year so there will be more open spots. The MLB Channel TV coverage would not be a bad thing either.

The first NCAA tournament forecast of the 2016 season is out and Southern Miss is in. Seriously thought this is way too early to be taken too seriously and the first forecast in 2015 also had Southern Miss in the NCAA tournament. However it does feel better to be listed in and not out.

Very interesting. Mumme called Dawson a "fearless play caller" to which Dawson commented "you miss every shot you don't take". He said terminology is 90% same as he has used since he worked for Dana Holgerson at west va. Said he had a long telephone conversation with Nick Mullins the day he took the job, very complimentary of Nick.
He and Mumme discussed importance if finding someone with the courage to catch the tunnel screen said it is a key play in the offense but can't throw it to someone who doesn't like the play.

Our rebounding effort on the offensive end is truly sad.

Coosa (Rome, Ga) High OL Parker Reeder is claiming a commitment to Southern Miss. This is the first I have heard of him.
