It seams odd to me that there is no softball game this weekend as part of Eagle Fest. It is possible that the conference schedule just did not work out and it is extremely difficult to get a non-conference opponent on a Saturday this time of the year.

I take it that there are no more TV games this season unless we make it to the championship game? Can I also assume it will be on FS2?

The game looked great on TV. You could make out a lot of details, including what looked to be a wet left field that both outfielders had trouble fielding. One of the Rice players burst his tail trying to make a catch. You could also clearly see that triple would have been a homerun without the additional height in centerfield. One more detail is one of our players banged up at the plate with what looked like a freak accident with his helmet bouncing up and cutting his face. The Right Field Roost folks looked to be having fun, and hearing the horns blow(had to wait to hear it on the net because at BWWs) is always fun(who came up with that?LOL).

Crowd looked nice, although I'm sure even the BWWs in Hattiesburg probably had a lot fans there. The folks at the BWWs were nice to put the game on two TVs between all the Astros and NBA games.

It is simple. The Eagles need to take this series and not look back. Rice's pitcher last night had some nasty stuff, especially to the lefties.We were very fortunate to get 2 runs. Cord bounced back nicely...when I first saw him on the mound, I thought he was going to put in a plug for Duck Commander merchandise. Anyway hope we can find a way to win the next two.

About a college kid claiming to be a Texas fan sending racist tweets to recruits . The kids name is Daniel figurelli , Houston alum , a&am grad student .sound familiar ? He is the guy on Twitter that first said that we were first in line to go to the AAC if someone left. Said he was in meetings where it was being discussed .With all that being said, I would bet everything I had that he was the one that sent our recruit from South Carolina that decommitted those messages . This might be old news but I heard some bad news this evening from my bud' in AL. His lil' cousin OL Dakota Siniard has lost interest in football & has dropped out of school. Who knows, he could rethink this decision and decide to return but for now, he's gone home.

This is not sports related, therefore way off topic for Lanny's board, but as an alumnus and parent with my 2nd Southern Miss child in Hattiesburg as a Freshman this year, this information is quite disturbing. My daughter is the one who sent me the link last night. She has complained, I'd say mildly, about the food situation on campus. I've kind of blown it off as just another in a tradition of rants from students about the cafeteria, but this situation may in fact be worse than I thought. The limited hours of operation have been my main disappointment - which make no sense whatsoever.

The observations of the blogger are bad enough, but in the comments where you have MS State students chiming in about how great and wonderful it is, well, you get my drift....

Everybody has had a chance. I know Cord & Livingston are seniors so hopefully help is on the way. Like I said I see flashes from the other pitchers maybe a season in the system will help.
