The Keljin Blevins story as I understand it & BB news

As some of you know, Keljin lost his father year before last at a very young age, and they were an extremely close family.

A cousin or uncle plays for the Portland Trailblazers and recently signed a huge contract. He has basically adopted that whole family and is helping all of them move to Portland, including Keljins mom.

Keljin decided he wanted to be close to family and has an opportunity to transfer to one of the Portland Universities and not be several thousand miles from their new home.

Believe this to be factual but "can not guarantee it."

We are trying to sign a late grad juco and a graduated senior transfer but nothing for sure.
No word on Cary transferring.

Let Them Hit !!!

Our bats have to get hot again to offset our pitching woes.

What is the problem? Each year we see this same thing. Our bats start hot, and then fade away as the season goes. Early we face lesser strength in pitching, yes, but my "stinking instincts" tell me something else is a work.

We have young men that can hit. They have always been able to hit, from their days in little league they have hit the ball.

Honestly, what we should have seen is that they should get stronger as the season goes. Experience and practice at the plate should do that.

What's up ???

Student recruitment philosophy

I am wondering what our strategy is in recruiting students to Southern Miss.
My church (Broadmoor Baptist, Madison) had it's annual HS graduation service this morning. Program for the ceremony lists name, potential major and where they plan to attend college. We have 80 kids that are graduating. Zero planning on attending Southern Miss.

Breakdown was

Mississippi State -22
Mississippi -22
Mississippi College -10
Community College -14
Alabama -2
Other out of state -6
Not listed -4

That is a pretty good number of kids. Are we simply not recruiting north of I-20?
