QB Ethan Crawford will be outvthe rest of this season with a torn ACL. Hate it for the young man, those are hard to get over and healed. Hope he is well and gets back 100%. He is the highest ranked recruit for USM.

Southern Miss carries momentum into a Thursday night contest hosting Louisiana.

Most likely, we will be an underdog against ULL. There is reason enough to understand why: turnovers, penalties, and no offense. Already ULL coaches have advised their players when Gore is the only one in the backfield; all 11 players will jam the LOS. They need not be concerned with the pass because our QB tends to throw the ball in double and often triple coverage. What drives USM can muster is often negated by penalties. In this coming game and future contests, several things must happen.

1. Play Lang in the first half.
2. Use Mims in various roles as often as can be done
3. Play Dean more often.
4. Let Gore and Willis pass out of the SB formation.
5. Develop dome trick plays.

The defense must keep playing well.
