I’ve seen Buffalo as a possible opponent for USM in a bowl game, as long as Buffalo reached it’s 6th win today playing Akron. They did just that 23-22. I watched the 4th quarter of the game as Akron gift wrapped that 6th win for the Bulls and then placed a pretty bow on it with a fumble on their late drive to get into field goal range. Neither team looked particularly sharp. Receivers in that league apparently don’t want to get their uniforms dirty diving for a close ball. Never once saw one dive trying to make a reception. I hope the Eagles have risen above that level of play!🤞

All year most of us knew when we got inside the ten-yard line, we most likely would end up settling for a field goal attempt Why? Because we felt the play-calling would leave us without a TD. Early in the year, we were told our offensive plays were limited due to the young QB position. Our QB was more than familiar with the playbook at the last of the year, but the quest for a TD often failed. I have watched a lot of FB, and I have never seen a team use as many ridiculous plays inside the ten. As a matter of fact, we often ended up back at the 25-yard line due to penalties.

I hope this Spring, the focus will be on a diversity of plays. We can not afford to let the opposition know plays we will run before we do. Improve this and next year will will make our mark.
