Millinghaus Conference POY

Former Southern Miss men's basketball player Shadell Millinghaus has been named the Panhandle Conference Player of the Year. Millinghaus averaged 17.3 points and 5.2 rebounds per game for Northwest Florida State College. "He's a multidimensional player" NWF head coach Steve DeMeo said. The sports writer for the Northwest Florida Daily News stated "...Millinghaus handles the ball like a point guard, shoots like a wing and rebounds like a power forward". NWF is the reigning JC men's basketball and baseball champions of the nation. They could repeat again this year in both sports. Coach DeMeo was selected as the Conference COY also. Since I now live in Valparaiso (Niceville) I have seen the NWF basketball team play numerous times this winter. I am getting ready to depart for Pensacola to watch the baseball game versus Troy. I hope to see many of you there at Blue Wahoo stadium again today and tomorrow.

108-106 wow hate to lose that one but

for a team that has won 8 games is on self imposed probation and had absolutely had nothing to play for since day one this year gave everything they had and then some. Questionable calls but thank you team. You have to give credit Doc for getting this effort I don't know how many coaches could gotten that. This team gave effort all year. Please tell me this mess is over NCAA on April 1st and let us get back to business. Thank you Doc Sadler staff and Players . SMTTT!!!

Starting Pitcher

Has anybody looked at hunter Stevens bio and saw that his era from Juco last year was above 5.00 and he had a 3-5 record. I think he also averaged around 7 walks per 9 innings. Does it bother anybody that we are recruiting pitchers that had a 5 era at the Juco level. It does look like he throws hard from what I saw last night but he does not seem to much like a pitcher.

USM's Mike Thomas

Does anyone know what his 40 time would be? Talking heads saying this is the slowest WR class to come out in years, MSU's Wilson was the worst, ran like a 4.9 or thereabouts. I had heard Thomas was around a 4.7, can anyone confirm? Regardless, I think he is fast enough and I think he could have a great NFL career if he gets picked up by the right team.

Ticket Line

I get to the game at 6:40 last night and I have never seen a line like I saw at MGM Park. Were these people not expecting USM folks to show up or something , totally unprepared. I didn't get to my seat until the third inning and then I watch South reel off 3 runs and chase Stevens from the game. Terrible night and trip. How can you not be prepared for this? I think Trustmark does a much better job as host and maybe MGM had a bad night. Pretty inexcusable though.
