Eight For Omaha: Wake Forest, Stanford, LSU, Southern Miss, Florida, Virginia, Vanderbilt, Arkansas
Most Intriguing Story Line: With all the older rosters around the country because of the COVID extra year, will we see a crazy, upset-laden postseason, or will it be chalky? Keep an eye on those teams with a boatload of juniors and seniors. Looking at you, Southern Miss.

Biggest Surprise: South Carolina hosting after a dismal stretch run performance constituted a mild surprise, considering this is the first time one conference has ever had eight hosts, and it’s not like the committee had a dearth of worthy hosting candidates to choose from (Campbell, Southern Miss, Boston College and DBU were all more deserving).
Omaha Sleeper: I’m taking three regional No. 2 seeds from mid-major conferences to break through to Omaha this year: Southern Miss, ECU, DBU. I suppose they’re all sleepers, and yet none of them should be sleepers, because these are three great programs that have repeatedly knocked on the CWS door in recent years.
