Just wait until the new coach comes in. Unless we raise enough money to hire a proven coach, we will be in trouble for years to come. Throwing spaghetti against the wall, as we have been doing the past couple of years, isn't going to work. I don't want an assistant who has only had success in the past year or two but one who has had multiple years of it and that we will take a lot of money. Trying to get by cheaply has led to disastrous results. Whoever it may be must be able to draw talent from the portal and coach them.

My cousin Adam Holston who graduated from the DuBard School passed away this morning. He became a die hard Golden Eagles after the athletic teams would come visit the DuBard school every season. He worked at SCRMC in Laurel and was an Eagle Club member and season ticket holder for last 15 plus years. This one hurts bad. He will be missed. Please pray for his family during this difficult time.

This is a name I heard about last week but was hearing no real traction, but now I am. A QB coach who has guided some good ones in his stops, especially at UTSA where he was OC/Associate HC/QB Coach. I actually like this one amd think he could make a solid HC.

On Sunday, Mike Norvell dismissed DC Adam Fuller, along with OC Alex Atkins and WR coach Ron Dugans. The team is entering its third and final bye week. Randy Shannon will take over defensive coordinator duties for the remainder of the season

Interesting point of interest. The last 2 coaches hired by this firm were at JMU and Tulane. Both were former HC. Tulane hired Sumrall who was at Troy. The HC at JMU, Cheney, was at Holy Cross. Might be a way to see I'm which way they're leaning. Or it could not mean anything.

Someone said JM and others looked to USM as a patsy for homecoming. Think about it: At one time, Bama and other SEC teams were cautious about playing us for HC. Now, teams I previously never heard of schedule us, and we can't teach them a lesson. Now, it is anyone anywhere at any time you can play us for HC.

We didn't talk specific coaches. They hope to have one named by the end of November (Thanksgiving is the 28th) with the portal opening Dec 9th. He did say that the coaching salary would go up, he didn't give specific but I would say a million plus. He also stated that assistant coaches pool would still be in the top half of.the SBC. They won't be naming a coach now because that will limit the pool of candidates.

Looking at UAB's roster, noticed a 6'9" forward, Lendeborg. He averaged 14 pts and 10 rebounds, to go a long with 33 minutes a game. He was their leading scorer in their opening game of the season. Curious how we will defend the guy, Harris isn't as big, but he is quick, might be a matchup. Any insights?
