CUSA Vs Sunbelt

Here are the teams also think about Basketball and Baseball. Are we looking in the future with some of the things we are saying. What about TV are we on more or less than Sunbelt. What Charlotte, North Texas etc. UAB are doing facility wise is impressive. Is It that conference I would actually rather do some trades between the conferences. But some natural rivalries do exist? I don't think the problem is CUSA as much as its the leadership. "Mr Invisible" Brian Bratosky & Judy Judy Judy. We should have been making bold moves under Bratosky. Im hard on Judy but Brian is when we should have been doing big things

Not piling on but what happened how did one of the better offenses in America

fall apart. And All Year long we left points on the field. Field goals instead of TD's/ The Last two DBS got handsy aggressive with Quez and shut him down. What Happened to Jaylon is he hurt or gone. I mean I kept looking for Jack for someone to throw to and I know he forced many passes. I still would have thrown it up to Quez if everyone is covered. Why do we not have a RB or TE come out late. I counted many times Jack running for his life and the closes receiveders 20-25 yards down the field

2020 Commitments

I do not see a single OL commited. I wonder if there will be some Jucos in that position later? I can't help but think we may lose some of the ones that we have listed a present. There may also be some on the roster now that quit or transfer. I would love to see about 6 OL added and 5 DBs. Maybe another LBs also. If Ragsdale stays, we maybe ok there. With several not rated, I do not know how we stand at present.

We’ve giving Hop 4 years

It’s time for a change. 1) 7-6 2) 8-5 3) 6-5 4) 7-5. The definition of mediocre. I think 4 years is a big enough sample size to see what he can do. I know we’re limited on what we can pay but he’s not the answer. I don’t think it’s too much to ask for to have at least won the west 1 year. And that’s my measuring stick.

JHop

Hes going to win 6-7 a year but I just dont see him ever being able to turn the corner as an elite coach even in CUSA. I may be completely wrong but I just do t see it on the field It seems like he has hit his ceiling as a coach I prefer a more aggressively offensive minded gambler (LFed, Monken) vs a defensive minded head guy (ELoss, JHop). The biggest reason LSU has turned the corner is Orgeron has made a huge change in his offensive philosophy. That is why LSU is where they are now. Heck even the all mighty Nick Saben has changed with the evolution on CFB over the years I dont know what the answer is for USM but I'm just afraid JHop isn't the answer. I'll give him another year as next year is SUPPOSED to be a special year at USM with so many returning starters but I'm not very optimistic about what this staff can do with our team .

11/29 Practice Report: After tough loss, Eagles regroup for FAU

In what some would consider to be an odd decision by CUSA to change their tiebreaker format during the season, the Golden Eagle football team had to put that behind them and returned to practice in preparation for their game tomorrow at FAU. Let's make no mistake here, this FAU squad is the best CUSA team Southern Miss has had to face all season. They have won their last 4 games in a row averaging 38 points per game. In that same span the Owl defense is only giving up 15 points per game. The Owls present the Southern Miss defense a problem that they have not seen all season. 2 of the top 5 Owl receivers are Tight Ends. Forget the numbers, touchdowns, this is a big problem for the Eagles because 2 of USM's top linebackers appear to be out this game. (Boothe, Bozeman) For the Eagles to win this game, they must play like they did earlier this season against North Texas. Start out fast, keep the hammer down, and when you have an opportunity to put FAU away, you must take advantage of that. How did Southern Miss do in practice this week? Let's take a look at both sides of the ball (and take a look at who wasn't there as well) as the Eagles finished up preparation for the Owls of Florida Atlantic.
