What did they feed the radar gun at La Tech?

Walker Powell touching 95
Ryan Och hit 98 on multiple pitches
Hurston Waldrep tossing 100mph seeds

I have never seen a college pitching velocity display like that.

Side note: We struck out 11, but the umpire was calling belt high, mid-plate pitches as balls. He pinched the Tech pitcher two, so that is not a major complaint. Pitchers with any tail or run on their cut fastballs were getting no love.

This was a challenging game to pitch in and our Eagles rose to the challenge!

When Southern Miss was slated for the late game slot in the 2021 Conference USA baseball tournament, there was some disagreement about whether or not this was a good thing. Would you rather have the last game so you could know the results of the games and have ample time to travel to Ruston?
