I thought that I read the conference was meeting this week and a decision would be forthcoming. Anyone hearing any results from those meetings?

Moore is back, will it make a difference? We shall see.

He practiced today. How much he plays will be how his wind is and how many minutes he can give the team.

Excited about the season. USM has a ot of depth on the infield.
He feels that baseball is at a turning point where pitchers have the advantage. He doesn't think that teams will hit at the .300 mark overall anymore. The game has changed.
Not prepared to name starters just yet. He wants to wait till he sees more scrimmages.
Talked about upgrades to PTP. Mentioned the new deck, lights, and the net behind the plate. Scoreboard is on backorder, but will be here in the season.
Happy to go back to regular scheduling amd midweek games. Those games get pitchers and position players a chance for work.
Dickerson will probably hit 2nd and Gabe will play CF to replace Trimble.
Excited about hosting CUSA Tournament.

I wasn't going to mention it, but 4 people have called to ask me about it. So, there would be no way I could see him making a return to USM. They way he exited last time would be cause for concern. IMO

Six transfers have made their way to the Hub City following the December signing day.

To decide when new conference members will join. All signs are pointing to joining this year in July, but nothing is final until it if official. Right now it is a waiting game and patience is a virtue.

Questions about 2021 seniors and extra year of eligibility…

1. The extra year for 2020 - when does that have to be requested / granted by?

2. Do any players interested in an additional year already know their status re: an additional year? If so, is there a list?

was just looking at transfers in and existing roster and if we were to get 1 more year of with a few key seniors (especially at LB and DB), next year should be all about OL and QB.

...about the transfer portal and Dabo Swinney. Evidently he doesn't recruit the portal because he feels it's unfair to the players that he has previously recruited. That's certainly different unique in today's climate. He just got a transfer of a previous QB that had transferred out when he signed Trevor Lawrence. The ACC is torpedoing Playoff expansion until the NCAA addresses change to the Portal and roster degradation caused by it.

He sent out email to faculty, student, and staff that he was not looking to extend his contract beyond June 2023.
