Assuming we do get to host a regional this year I was curious if anyone had any insight into getting tickets if you aren't a season ticket holder. I have football season tickets and Eagle Club but my job doesn't allow me to attend spring sports until after tax deadline so baseball season tickets have never made sense. I was able to get regional tickets last time through an acquaintance who had season tickets, but was curious if last time anyone went through the other schools in the regional to obtain tickets. How many tickets are those schools allotted, just curious if it would make sense to try and get them through a #4 seed school or something. Also would be willing to pay a reasonable premium over ticket prices if any season ticket holders on here would be willing to buy me a ticket packet or two.

Jalen Williams and Janari Dean appear to be the two most highly rated recruits out of HS that will be playing for us this year. Others were recruited by some other good football teams. I look for Knight to be special,

Of course, the baseball regular season is coming to USM and La Tech as it has so often over the years. If there ever was a mirror image of Southern Miss, it’s Tech. Having to fight for scraps in our respective states in an environment in which the $EC sucks a lot of the oxygen out of the air, we’ve both held our own, and even thrived, through toughness, hard work and determination. It just seems there should have been a way to get them in the Sun Belt, I understand the reality that three Louisiana schools jut could not work. But I will really miss them.

After the sweep at MTSU, the Golden Eagles sit #12 in RPI. With no team in the tournament over 100 in RPI, if the Eagles can win some games, that national seed is still in contention and hosting is probable.

Just checked NCAA statistics and USM pitching is in the top 5 in the nation in at least 5 different categories, in the top 2 in 3 of them, trailing only Tennessee. That is outstanding!

Thought it would be fun to look at the standings and see how things are as of today:

Bracket 1:

1. Southern Miss vs 8. UAB
4. MTSU vs 5. Charlotte

Bracket 2:

2. LA Tech vs 7. FAU
3. UTSA VS 6. ODU

Bracket 2 is brutal and UAB took 2 of 3 from USM. All teams are below 100 in the RPI. This is the deepest tournament in recent memory.

Box Score

Hearing that USM will open with App State and will play everyone but Georgia State. No travel partners, which means one road and one home game every week. No dates yet, no schedule release, just what I have heard.

Something unreal happened to the Memphis Tiger baseball. They were no hit by SWAC UAPB and Memphis lost 2-0. That has to be the worst loss I've ever heard of since the year USM beat Alabama in baseball but LOST to Alcorn State in 1987.
