We couldn't trust either of them. I really fell for TM words of wanting to take this team to the next level. I guess when he wasn't offered a job at the P5 level he took the next best thing. No class at all to leave right before signing day and and have our class picked apart. This is unforgiveable. Now no one will want to sign with us or trust us. The chances of getting a good coach is nill,nada,zero, nothing. We need to do like some of the other schools and just give an assistant coach a one year deal then hire a real coach. Their is not a good coach available at this time, we are screwed. Wait, I know one that would take it,and he wouldn't be here but a year or two, but he can recruit, and he wants to be a head coach again, and he will use us as stepping stone, but what is new, ED Oregeron. Let's go get him.

i never let myself get too attached to the thought of him being here long term. To me, it was obvious he would leave for "something better," I just didn't expect it to be in this fashion. Not mad, it's the business. We are an attractive job once again. Let's keep this thing going. (Hopefully I'm as optimistic after signing day)

This weekend Southern Miss hosted about a dozen prospects, some on official visits others on unofficial visits. Starkville (MS) High standout defender Lorenzo Dantzler was on an official visit.

Dantzler became the first uncommitted prospect to make the call for the Eagles this weekend when he posted his intentions on social media on Saturday afternoon.

Southern Miss is still in the market for quality offensive lineman and they may have found another prospect to fit that bill in Tuttle (OK) High standout Chandler Anthony. The talented 6-foot-7, 295-pounder has began taking his official visits and he has one scheduled to Southern Miss.

Southern Miss got a big boost on Sunday when New Iberia (LA) Catholic offensive tackle Wyatt Richthofen announced his commitment to the Golden Eagles.
