So, who pitches tomorrow?

Mazza, Storm, do you think Tanner has had enough rest??? Would O' pitch Tanner even if he can go, or will he stick with the usual philosophy even though it may not give us our best chance to win? (see Sivley this morning and the last time before today that he pitched) This is a championship game. We shall see.

I think Sively can be a very good pitcher. He needs maturity in that his situational awareness needs to greatly improve, and he doesn't need to get rattled so easily. He also needs to be able to handle the bunt. I was very happy this morning that App didn't choose to bunt him out of the game.

D1 Baseball: 2023 Scouting Trail, Week 14: Florida Atlantic, Georgetown, Louisiana, Southern Miss, Xavier

No. 68 Tanner Hall, RHP, Southern Miss– A breakout star for the Golden Eagles as a sophomore last spring, Hall has the top changeup that I’ve seen this spring. With a compact to short arm path and a polished, repeatable delivery, the 6-foot-1, 180-pound right-hander pounds the zone with an 88-92 mph sinker. The pitch plays up with its command and life. It also plays up due to his best pitch; a legitimate plus-plus changeup at 81-84 that wiggles, cuts or abruptly dives as the bottom falls out. He throws it with excellent arm speed and commands it to both sides of the plate. Of the 114 pitches that he threw against Louisiana, 53 were changeups. Of those 53, he induced 18 empty swings and another nine foul balls. His third pitch is a seldom used, yet effective slider in the 78-83 mph range. He only threw seven total on this look, but showed the ability to expand to his glove side, inviting right handed hitters to chase. For the season Hall is 11-3 with a 2.45 ERA and 100 strikeouts against 30 walks in 88 innings. Overall, Hall looked like yet another future big leaguer for the Golden Eagles and is a likely top two round pick this July.
