Lame meter: USM graduation versus others

I see Tom Brokaw is speaking at the ole miss graduation today. Not a Brokaw fan, but I imagine he gave an interesting charge.

At our graduation yesterday, the current student body president, who was also graduating, shared his encouraging words from his life experiences. It felt like a valedictorian address.

Why can't we even do the simple things in a cool way? It was so lame.

I love our university, but we bring a lot of our "buddy-perception" upon ourselves.

So Miss in good shape with Brannon

Three-star OL prospect Hunter Brannon from Cullman (AL) High has long one been one of Southern Miss' top priorities on the offensive line. Recently the offers have been piling up for Brannon and the competition getting even stiffer for the Eagles.

Are the Eagles still in good shape with Brannon? That's the question we asked on Sunday afternoon.

LT starting pitcher

If I researched the right kid, 6'2" 225lb transfer from Hinds CC.

Had over a 4 era there and was mostly a reliever.

Has moved into starting rotation at Tech and thrown 2 complete games.
55 innings, 40 something Ks, 40 something hits, about 15 BBs, couple of hit batters, only 8 earned runs.

Their pitching coach (former PRCC coach I think) obviously recognized a diamond in the rough and has done a great job of developing him.

We need to make him throw a lot of pitches and get him out of game early. Doesn't appear to be a strike out pitcher but doesn't give out many free passes.
Probably as good as most Friday guys we have faced. May have a chip on his shoulder if we did not offer him.

Huge game for lots of reasons.
