New TV deal

From an article from the ODU paper ODU is preparing for a 700K loss in TV revenue this year meaning our TV revenue is dropping from 1million per team a year to 300K a year. That is huge. The AAC get 2mil, WAC 1.65, MAC 675K, SunBelt 100K. On a brighter note the league is supposedly in serious negotiations with ESPN to broadcast some Thur,Fri night games. Perhaps that will help the revenue stream a bit.

Guys, be happy

football season is just around the corner. Baseball is all but over and we'll make some money for the community during the conference tournament as Rice wins CUSA again.

Berry will keep his job as the team won the series against Rice and came oh so close again.

Now let's see what Hop and the new coaches bring to our re-emerging football program!!!

10 days ago FAU was ranked and had just won vs the #1 ranked team...

They are a very good team. They lost two 1 run games vs FIU and dropped out of the rankings. I don't think they should have dropped all the way out of the rankings but the voting is very subjective and biased. One thing going for Southern Miss is Rice and FAU still have to play each other in May. All that being said Southern Miss needs a win Sunday in the worst way.

OT: NFL Draft Tonight

Does anyone else out there get as excited about the NFL draft and enjoy watching it as much as I do? It's one of my favorite TV events of the year each year. I love Chris, Mel, Gruden, etc. Those guys are so informative and entertaining, IMHO. I know on this board it's easy to hate on ESPN and I'm right there with ya, but this is one of the few times I make an exception.

OT: But Sports Related

The Chinese haven't any shame. Conversely, this is likely the case of a company shipping labor overseas for profit sakes, and having to forgo some intellectual rights in order to sale products there. They run the risk of training that labor force and that labor force leaves with the know how to create their own product.

See this a lot within the auto industry now too...Chinese-produced cars looking exactly like already established marques.
