Golden Eagle Fans –

As you may be aware, Conference USA released a statement last night announcing the cancelation of spring sports competition and championships due to the ongoing public health crisis associated with COVID-19. While the decision by our league membership doesn't come as a surprise, it is still heartbreaking for our student-athletes, coaches, and fans.

We plan to work diligently with Conference USA and the NCAA to ensure that these student-athletes regain their lost year of eligibility.

In the coming weeks the Southern Miss Ticket Office staff will be making contact with our 2020 softball and baseball season ticket holders who have been affected by the cancellation of the seasons.

Thank you for your continued support of our student-athletes during this difficult time as we navigate this unprecedented situation.

Need some feedback from you all

With sports shut down, no recruiting as well, what are some things you would like for me to research and write about. I will be doing a Spring preview for defense and special teams. I am also in the process of speaking with 2021 and 2022 recruits. Any other topics you guys want, please let me know. I am praying for everyone to stay safe and healthy during this trying time. God Bless you all....

MHSAA news...

All MHSAA competition and practice suspended through March 29

March 16, 2020, 10:00 AM

CLINTON — To protect the health and safety of our students and communities, the Mississippi High School Activities Association (MHSAA) is suspending all sanctioned contests and activities due to the outbreak of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) in Mississippi. This policy was put in place after a conference call with the MHSAA Executive Committee on Monday morning. The Executive Committee is made up of 15 school administrators from around the state.

Effective immediately, March 16, all MHSAA interscholastic sports and fine-arts activities competition and practice is suspended through March 29 and until further notice. This suspension applies whether or not a school is open or closed during this timeline.

Contingency plans for continuing regular-season competition and return to play are being formulated and will be announced and implemented by the MHSAA at the appropriate time(s). Each spring fine-arts activity and sports championship event is being reviewed and actions will be taken with the possibility of new dates and venue sites. A decision to continue spring contests and activities will be made as soon as possible in the best interests of the student-athletes, coaches, administrators and communities.

“We urge our member schools and their communities to take every possible precaution to remain safe and healthy,” said MHSAA Executive Director Don Hinton. “MHSAA leadership is working diligently to adjust to this rapidly evolving situation and will share updates as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we continue to work through this unfortunate situation together.”

With no USM baseball to follow, how do we pass the time?

With everything going on and no Southern Miss baseball to follow this Spring, I will be catching up on my streaming TV shows. I’m watching & will recommend the following... on CBS All Access - Star Trek: Picard, it'soutstanding! 1st season currently on now. On Amazon Prime, I recommend Jack Ryan. 2 seasons & very good! On Netflix, check out Lost In Space. 2 seasons & a 3rd season announced. Good show! Any other suggestions???
