For all you "old school" Southern Miss Basketball fans..

We found out today that Coach Ladner is bringing back the Rowdy Rail and Dunk Corner to RGC this season. Just spoke with Coach Ladner, Draine, and Pinkney. There is a buzz in the air with this team. I feel that this season is going to be fun! How much fun will depend on how long it takes them to gel. The talent level is higher than it has been in quite some time. We are not far away from the season....

4 names that I am hearing at this time....

Kane Womack (DC Indiana)- He and Austin Davis are very good friends. To have both of them here would be interesting. He is a former player and his dad was a former DC here.

Rhett Lashlee (OC Miami) He has been an extremely good OC and has turned the Miami offense around.

Jamey Chadwell (HC Coastal Carolina)He has taken Coastal to new heights and a #20 ranking this season.

Austin Davis (QB Coach Seattle NFL) He wants this job and wants to come home. Experience is the question here.

These are the 4 names I am hearing now. It was interesting that during Jeremy's interview on the Eagle Hour he stated that he had interest from current head coaches, coordinators, and some from the NFL. All of these meet those levels.

Monday Presser Notes 11/14

Billings:
Life is good today after a win.
Glad to have Clopton back, he is leader of O-Line, glad to have him back.
Jack should be back this week
Tate's availability is not clear yet
Doesn't know how they will use Jack and Tate at QB in the same game yet
WKU is a well coached football team. Has a veteran O-Line and RB. Def they have 8 returning starters. They are solid in special teams.
Can't give up explosive plays this week. He felt like they are playing the running game better. They gained some confidence on the secondary.
Eagles are getting better running the football. Makes the offense go easier.
Gore JR should be ok with turf toe. Dee Baker and Perkins played well at RB.
Tim Jones is still nursing hammy. Should play this week.
Ragsdale left the team. Not on the roster anymore.

Kubik:

Glad to have Clopton back, he is a leader. Had some pre snap issues, not happy about that.
Thought Scott did a good job at Guard and so did Doss.
Believes once Tate gets back, then they will use both in the offense. Hard for defenses to prepare for 2 guys.
Foxy is still having hand issues, not sure what his status for this week yet.
Hayes should be OK, his injury looked worse than it was.
The running game is just getting better and better and will continue with more snaps every week.
WKU has a really good front 7 and will commit to stop the run. They rely on the safeties to atop the run and are great tacklers. Going to have to be patient in the run game.
Happy that the guys didn't give up when things went wrong at first. As a play caller you can't let it et n your head, you have to fight it.
Driver should be ready to roll this week. They have been playing with only 2 TE, it will help with depth and in running game.

Pecoraro:

He felt tackling and the fact they didn't give up the big play were 2 big differences for defense next week.
WKU runs the ball well, their QB is a good runner, and they have good TE. Need to own the line of scrimmage.
Pleas Jr is really getting better every week. Can get after the passer as a rusher.

Brooks:
Not having to move around defensive backfield and playing 1 position has helped him get better at CB.
Message at halftime was keep playing hard and stop making mistakes against UNA.
The players that are here now want to be here. All the players who didn't want to be here are not. The guys that are here, we come out every week and fight and stay together.

Robinson:

WKU plays a lot of man coverage on the film he has seen.
No big change if both QB's play next week. They have practiced with both.
