Update On My Recovery....

I have been getting a lot of messages and emails about my health, so I thought I would update everyone on here. I have been learning to walk again and that has been going extremely well. Unfortunately, the prosthesis has started to irritate the area of my leg where the prosthesis connects to my leg. This is not uncommon, but very uncomfortable. Just another hurdle, but I am walking again!!! I may not be walking a marathon, but I am taking steps!!!! It has been less than 9 months since I lost my left leg from above knee down. If it wasn't for you guys and having some sort of purpose then who knows where I would be.

Will Hall Interview Tidbits......

I had the opportunity to interview Will Hall this morning. Unfortunately, due to Dr. visits and physical therapy, I was not able to put the full interview out on here yet. I thought that I would post some tidbits of the interview before I am able to finish the whole thing up. Here are some of the more important highlights of the conversation....

The first thing He did when he got here was address the team and reach out to some of the opt-outs. I have not reached out to a lot of the opt outs, but have reached out to some who have made a lot of plays for Sothern Miss. There was a reason they chose USM and it hasn't worked out like they hoped. I wanted to sell them on my dream and philosophy of coaching the team.
He would not mention any certain names.

He does have all his coaches already selected. He will not release those names officially yet. He felt as if it would be a distraction to the coaches and players who are preparing for FAU.

He believes with a few new players and some different schemes, that USM has enough talent here to win a CUSA Championship.

He believes the Eagles biggest need in recruiting is at QB. Tate is an outstanding QB and he looks forward to working with him, but they need to build quality depth at QB. At every other position on offense, if we get everyone to come back, we have talent and some depth at every position.
After the QB position is addressed on recruiting. After that it will they will look to fill immediate needs after finding out who is officially staying and who is not.

On defense the need is for big run stuffing DL and for DB's who can play man to man, these are the 2 areas on defense they will be looking to bolster this offseason.

This year we will only have 13 scholarships. Next year we will be back at 25. Because so many guys are supposedly coming back, that allows for them to only use 13 scholarships this recruiting period and they don't have to "rob Peter to pay Paul" and take scholarships from next season to fill out a roster.

Just some quick hits for you all. We talked in depth much more about this and other topics. Be looking for that to be out tomorrow.

On a personal level, I was nice to speak with a HC who was not so guarded and didn't mind answering questions and will allow the access we have missed the past 4-5 years. Hope you all enjoyed this and comment below, would love to know what you guys think about what he said.

FAU Postgame Presser Notes

Tim Jones:
Season has been tough feels good to get a win tonight.
Tre did a good job putting the ball in play and reads. He practiced extra after practice it showed.
Everyone on this team who stuck together just showed how much this team is there for each other.
Hasn't made a decision on staying yet.

Billings:
I am so proud of this team and coaching staff. It is a great way to leave this place. I will always have a soft spot in my heart for Southern Miss.
These guys have blessed me more than I could ever bless them after this year.
It is a year and team I will never forget. Wherever I go, I will always have this team's picture on the wall.
Tim Jones stayed after practice with Lowe to get him better.
To be honest before the game, I just wanted them to play hard and play tough, but when we went ahead, I got into winning coach mode.

Harrell:
It was a dream come true to return that kickoff in college. Only other return was in high school.
We played together tonight and it showed.
Going out with a win was great for not only players but coaches.
New coach watching was a motivating factor.
I am not going anywhere I like this place.
Everyone is excited when they heard Coach Hall speak.
After this year and so much adversity, it really brought us together as a group.

Lowe:
Just having the extra prep gave me confidence for the game.
Wanted to have a good first impression for Coach Hall, but really they wanted to win for this staff.
We had fun out there.
Got caught between trying to stay in bounds and getting a 1st down on that last 4th down attempt.
Worked with Jones a lot after practice this week.
