When was the last time we were proud of our RPI?

I said before the season that we owe this group of clowns, but that was true with the Troy game as well. The latter didn't turn out favorable. So what are the chances for Saturday? This will be an even tougher hill to climb by far. I do not think the OL will be up to the task. A win is unlikely, but anything is possible. If it rains, they will have more people in the stands than us, which may lead to a Georgia State rerun.

The game has been absolutely brutal for Southern Miss. I know several key Southern Miss players are out injured, but being down 48 to 7 at halftime is way worse than I would have expected.

There has been a significant improvement in the remaining players from last year's "Shock Troops." Pinckney appears to be a completely different player. He has really improved. Mo has taken a giant step forward, as well as Harris. And what about the defense of Armstrong?

Laced with a new group of good players, this team could go places. They are super exciting and have a dedication to winning. They should be rewarded with more than a couple of hundred fans at the home games.

A cold, overcast morning was warmed by another high-energy Competition Tuesday.

The Rock hosts Southern Miss’ final homestand of the season Saturday, and it also hosted Workday Wednesday on an even colder, overcast morning.

I know many of you, like me, are not fans of the portal, NIL, and what that brings to college sports.

However, to keep up, these things have to be addressed and kept up with. The good news: Southern Miss is in good shape with NIL for portal transfers and recruits. Seems the collective has been established and that will allow the program to be on a somewhat even ground with other SBC schools to landing transfers.

Now when Hall and staff identify a QB or another position of need to go after, they will have some funds to sweeten the pot.

College sports have changed. Is it for better or worse? We shall see....

Another chance to improve for the Eagles. Let's see if their outside shooting shows improvement. Defense is ahead of offense at this time. Tough road swing coming up....
