Regardless how terrible this last weekend was for Southern Miss baseball it is still nice to actually be able to look forward to an NCAA tournament bid and therefore care about whomever else is in the tournament. Alabama State just won the SWAC tournament.
In our quest to host a regional, it is helpful that both Tulane and Georgia Tech lost today. Georgia Tech is slightly ahead of us in RPI and Tulane has been projected as a possible host though below us in RPI. Ultimately, we have to win the tournament. If we do, I believe we will host.
Right now Tech is up and a lot of runs have scored on each side. Sure would like for tech to keep it going. If they play 2 today and we can get the first one we would be in great shape
June/July is a bad time to be in the college football hiring mode. Baylor apparently made their own mess but some other school is about to get screwed when Bayor hires their coach away this late in the year.
During their home schedule did they bring alot of fans come? Because today they brought a few with them if they continue to win they could overrun hattiesburg.
HATTIESBURG (MS) - While Southern Miss and Rice enjoyed a hard earned day off on Friday, the other four teams remaining in the Conference USA slugged it out in a pair of games that were simply outstanding competition.
Looks like Marshall is going to go with RHP Chase Boster today, he was their starter on Wed and threw 112 pitches. They are bringing him back on less than 72 hrs rest.
Always cool when something comes along to make Hattiesburg a cooler town than it already is...
