UNCW and William and Mary are playing for the Colonial Conference championship tied 8 - 8 and in a rain delay. The game is being played just outside Charleston, SC. UNCW will make the NCAA tournament anyway if they do not win the championship game. William and Mary will not and needs to win the game to make it. If the game ends in a tie UNCW will get the automatic for being the highest seeded team left in the tournament.

The guy calling balls and strikes in our game today was formerly in the AAA Pacific Coast League for three years. Who would have guessed? Now is a coach/teacher at South Lake High in Texas.

Rice plated 3 in the 2nd, but La Tech has bounced back with 4 of their own in the bottom of the same inning and still batting.

I don't know if I've ever seen a team dominate a Rice pitching staff the way the Bulldogs have over the past 10 days.

If we win today and advance directly to the championship game, would the winner of LT/Rice have to beat us twice tomorrow?

The bracket on the CUSA website looks like only 1 game tomorrow regardless of which team wins.

Regardless how terrible this last weekend was for Southern Miss baseball it is still nice to actually be able to look forward to an NCAA tournament bid and therefore care about whomever else is in the tournament. Alabama State just won the SWAC tournament.

In our quest to host a regional, it is helpful that both Tulane and Georgia Tech lost today. Georgia Tech is slightly ahead of us in RPI and Tulane has been projected as a possible host though below us in RPI. Ultimately, we have to win the tournament. If we do, I believe we will host.
