Nice to know we have support

At work today in the Houston airport, and this really nice lady approached and said she and her family are rooting for us this weekend. She had noticed my USM lanyard and just had to come up and say something. They’re State fans, but are really hoping we take Ole Miss down and she said we’ve got 2/3rds of the state behind us. If only that were true, but what a nice gesture on her part! Nice to know we have support from others in not so common places.

Update from Coach Hall about Summer workouts....

Just had a great conversation with Coach Hall, here are the things we discussed.

He loves USM Baseball players and coaches. He did not miss listening to part of or watching a whole game this season. Was happy to see a lot of his players at the games. Very complimentary of Scott Berry. He also said he had so much fun with the atmosphere and being a fan this past weekend.

Summer workouts have begun amd every player is in. They will get a 9 day break for July 4th and 5 days before start of Fall Camp Aug. 4th.

He says he is seeing leaders establishing themselves this season. Gore Jr, Keyes, and Habas were some mentioned. He said last season the coaches had to lead because no one knew what to expect, this season is much much different.

Had over 120 kids combined at both camps with 3 more to take place. Interesting note, they did not sign a kid out of high school that they didn't get to work out in person. Shows how important these camps are.

Wad happy to see all the QB at the last camp out there working with the kids. This is not something they had to do but shows the growth in them as people and it isbgreat for campers to see and talk to current players.

Coach Hall also feels that because it is their 2nd year that the continuity is much better. Retention has been excellent. He said Ty Keyes is getting better and better and is looking forward to see his progression.

He is much happier about what he is seeing in the Summer.
