Offensive tackle for next season

we signed zero juco help for Spring. This is what we go into Spring with. Tyler Stutzman Rjr. 6-4 280 zero D1 snaps. Ty Pollard zero snaps. Hayden Mcmahan Rso 6-4 270 zero D1 snaps. Drake Dorbeck 6-6 320. Rfr. ZeroD1 snaps. Has yet to be medically cleared for contact. Not sure he has even been able to lift. Jacob Fleming 6-4 305 45 snaps at tackle this season. Better suited to play guard. I would like to see him at 290-295 in hopes of improving his feet. From this group we must replace Hill 6-6 315 35 career starts. Price 6-4 320. 19 career starts. Hill and Price had a great deal to do with how well we ran the football this season on the edge, as well as keeping Nick clean from the outside. Looking at the group we have to work with in the Spring we have a long way to go to be near as good up front as we were this season. Finding some top shelf juco help was critical. I thought the winning season might have helped with that, but the P5 teams have gotten more dependent on good juco tackles over the years. P5 pretty much cleaned out the difference makers. It will be interesting to see how coach Meadows develops this group. Personally don't see much legit talent except for Pollard, who will need reps and more time in the weight room. I had high hopes for Dorbeck, but am concerned with his health. Stutzman must absolutely be ready to protect Nick's blind side right out of the gate. Obviously still need to build our talent and depth at the tackle position. Feel good about guard.

Practice Notebook:

I took in some of practice today and I have some good news and some bad news.

First of all due to a technology failure, my videos didn't come out today.

- Everything looks pretty seemless at practice with John Wozniak taking over as the OC.

- Pete Golding appears to be taking a larger role in Special Teams, so I won't be shocked if he ends up getting the Special Teams Coordinator title after the first of the year.

- Guys were really up-beat especially the seniors who were taking part in their last practice at "The Rock".

- The team also had a chance to take a piece of the program with them. They were each allowed to keep the door of their locker as a souvenir as renovations begin. The strength and conditioning rooms are also cleared out and they've moved equipment operations to the South EndZone.

Here's some highlights from memory from interviews with Todd Monken, Rashod Hill and Kalan Reed:

- Monken pleased with today's practice, excited for team about the week. Team will meet tomorrow and all travel together (by charter plane) to Dallas for the game. The team will have full practices on Tue and Wed with a walk-thru on Thur and final prep on Friday:

- Cole Weeks, offensive GA has been working with QB's since Lindsey left and seems to be doing well with them. But, moving forward into the Spring Wozniak will coach QB's.

- Reed and Hill are thrilled to have seen the program come full circle during their associations with Southern Miss. Both want to make history by becoming only the 3rd team in school history to win 10 or more games.

Other Tidbits:

- Southern Miss has officially announced South Panola's Demetrius Market as a signee.
