This is not sports related, therefore way off topic for Lanny's board, but as an alumnus and parent with my 2nd Southern Miss child in Hattiesburg as a Freshman this year, this information is quite disturbing. My daughter is the one who sent me the link last night. She has complained, I'd say mildly, about the food situation on campus. I've kind of blown it off as just another in a tradition of rants from students about the cafeteria, but this situation may in fact be worse than I thought. The limited hours of operation have been my main disappointment - which make no sense whatsoever.

The observations of the blogger are bad enough, but in the comments where you have MS State students chiming in about how great and wonderful it is, well, you get my drift....

Everybody has had a chance. I know Cord & Livingston are seniors so hopefully help is on the way. Like I said I see flashes from the other pitchers maybe a season in the system will help.

who you have owned in football get you down they just pour it on. These walks continue to blow my mind. But we could not get a breaking ball over all night. Hayden Roberts the kid coming back from Tommy John made his debut and had some nasty stuff. I know he was on a pitch count. I can see flashes from each of the pitchers and see why we signed them but they are not consistently making the pitches. But we have got to get back to hitting. Huge series coming up Eagles time to step up. SMTTT We can do it.

Has to be baseball, and now USM baseball.
Very painful to follow at times.

Last year, we roll South Alabama and Tulane midweek, and in the end.....meant nothing.

This year, we get on a tear, and get swept by these ^&*^*^*! when it would have meant so much.
We duplicate last year's team against those 2, and we are 31-7.... Ranked about 7th.

I'm pissed now, but, still hopeful. Having Rice at home for 3 this weekend gives me hope.
But, now I'm unsure again about this team. It is truly a roller-coaster ride following this bunch.

Why can't we, after 38 games into the season figure it out?

Southern Miss has fallen from the Top 25 after a 2-2 week that saw The Eagles drop their first C-USA series of the year to a bad UAB team on the road:

Baseball America and Perfect Game have both dropped the Eagles from their Top 25 ranking.

Collegiate Baseball who had the Eagles at No. 18 and NCBWA who ranked the Eagles No. 28 have yet to release their weekly rankings. Southern Miss was not ranked by ESPN/Coaches Poll last week.

Who all is planning on attending the Black and Gold game/the Rice series? Should be a pretty turn out this weekend. We've been needing to turn Spring Game weekend into an event for a while. There seem to be some pretty cool activities lined up.
