Southern Miss signee Calder Mikell pitched 7 innings with 6 strikeouts while giving up 6 hits in JCJC 11-3 win over Brunswick Community College (North Carolina). Mikell is 11-1 on the year on the mound for JCJC and they will play the winner of Gateway (Arizona), Mercer(New Jersey) or Sinclair (Ohio) on Thursdsy at 7:00. Jones is 2-1 in the Juco World Series and 51-9 on the season.

I didn't think about it till a friend of mine mentioned it. If it was a toss up between Lafayette regional and Hattiesburg Regional, do you think the committee took our flag and other related issues into account? Not saying I agree, but I had to think about it.

They beat Southern Miss 2 out of 2 times in the regular season. However that was early in the season. South Alabama also did not fare well towards the end of the season and had trouble with teams like Georgia Southern.

I don't know if the university has done anything like it, but what a great PR thing to do. Tomorrow they'll be in Jay's hometown Vicksburg.The bus looks first class. The university should continue the good PR.

There were many pivotal plays that helped USM win.If Rice doesn't have a couple miscues, and we don't have clutch plays and little luck it goes the other way.

After getting left out of hosting...that is.

A No. 2 in Tallahassee opposite the No. 1 Overall Seed, Florida.

That tells us that FSU was the last regional host in and that Southern Miss was the first potential host out.
