The Good was the Basketball team's on-the-road win over Vandy. This team has a lot of hard bark on them. The defense was smothering and kept Vandy in the low percentage field goal-wise. Unlike last year Jay has added some D1 players to go with Harris, Pink, and Mo. Alvarez was elated after the game. If you haven't seen them play, please do so.

The Bad was the penalties and lack of scoring in the red zone in the CC game. Play calling, punting, and giving up big plays.

The Ugly, can you guess? That is right, the OL.

1. Coach Hall has said many times that this team is not good anough to win games when they don't play their best. The 1Q was just bad football and they couldn't overcome that in the end. They got close, but couldn't get it done.

2. The OL is such a liability. Even if they have improved, they seem overwhelmed amd slow at times.

3. Lowe was really good tonight and threw the ball well. He had to throw it over 30 times tonight and USM isn't going to win if any QB has to throw that much.

4. Kicking FG's does not win games. Twice they had the ball 1st and goal and couldn't score. There is the game.

5. Defense has a lack of concentration or something every game. Tonight it was a 3 play drive, all runs,for a TD. That will happen when games are always put on their shoulders.

6. Play South Alabma like they played the 2nd through 4th quarters tonight and they are bowl eligible.

7. Lowe is the starter going forward, no question.

Did Coach Hall address what incident led to Scott’s penalty and immediate ejection after that last TD by Coastal?

Did he throw some punches?

Both Georgia State and Coastal were talking a lot of trash to try and get the Eagle defense off their game and it worked, apparently.

1. Biggest win since he has been at Southern Miss, no question. Big win for the program.

2. Right now, with new faces, defense is ahead of offense. Coaching staff, Cardona has done a great job so far. This is a totally different defense than was coached last season.

3. Feels like Haase was more assertive and that is the way he must play for USM to be successful. They would like to see him get to the line more.

4. Crowley's shot towards the end was most important of the night. He has ability to make that shot in that atmosphere.

5. Thought they missed big opportunities under the basket. Was happy with the looks, but not with missing the scoring opportunities and turnovers. Could have been a bigger lead at the half.

6. Big win, but gotta move on and get ready. Learn from it and get better.

7. Too early in the season to worry about 3 point shooting. Was happy with shot selection, those shots will go down.

8. Not looking toward Liberty yet, focusing on Loyola. Will turn attention to Liberty after game tomorrow.

Southern Miss suffered a heartbreaking 26-23 defeat on the road against Coastal Carolina after erasing a 17-0 first quarter deficit.

The Golden Eagles will face Coastal without their star QB.

ULM beat GA St, who steamrolled us. Not really sure if I see another win on the schedule. Hopefully, I’m wrong!

Where is COBIE? Has he transferred? Is he hurt? Was he kicked off the team? Grade issues? Our most pressing issue with the team is outside shooting. I believe Jay said Cobie is a good one.
