With 5:35 left in the game and a single point lead and UTSA with TWO timeouts remaining:

1st down: Rush off right tackle for 7 yards
2nd down: Rush off left guard (-4) yard loss
3rd down: Screen 'Pass' for 1 yard
4th down: Offside penalty UTSA

With 4:00 remaining from the 35 ydline:

1st down: Rush off left guard for 3 yards
2nd down: Rush off right guard for 2 yards
3rd down: Rush off right tackle for zero yards
4th down: Willingly choose to lose (-5) yards to punt from own 35 yardline instead of 40; punt leaving 2:12 left on clock

The rest you know: Bad tackling; Bad clock management; Bad Offside penalty; Bad defensive scheme

Monken lost me and I was a big supporter and optimist of his until now. Other than Luke Meadows and Pollard there appears to be no 'teaching' coaches on this staff (receivers have gotten better I guess). The team that came out against UTSA has not progressed from the Alcorn State game in terms of discipline, fundamentals, tackling, scheme etc.

Even though Monken is here for a while - Duggan must go. I despise this defensive scheme. I also despise the Pistol and all the DELAYED hand-offs on short yardage. Stupid. Esp with a limited O-line.

hard to disagree with anything. monken blew this game all by himself though imo. I was a fan of his as well be he lost me.

Isn't Pollard the DB coach, if he isn't sorry but if he is he needs to be first to go. Our DB's are lost out there in the 11th game.

I mean yea coaching lost the game, but if we want to narrow it down to the last five minutes, we're ignoring the 35 minutes of abysmal offensive playcalling the 55 minutes before.

I agree with Eagle Reserve.. Our staff has not proven itself. Although our talent is not great neither is the talent on the other teams in C-USA. We should be dominating this conference ahead of Marshall. Instead we are at the bottom of a weak conference. Finding a good assistant to become a good HC must be a tough assignment (See Florida).
