I just wanted to add that even though I disagree with the fake punt because there was still a lot of time left, I really do like Coach Monken's willingness to come up with creative play calling. It didn't work out twice today with the fake punt, and the backwards pass that got smothered before it could be thrown downfield. But plays like that do work on several occasions, and often when they're most critically needed in a game. Creative play calling, trick plays, fake punts, and onside kicks are one of the things I've always liked about college football- and I appreciate a coach who has the guts to make calls like that. I really liked it when Coach Bower did the "Mills Kills" trick play. What bothered me was that it seemed we hardly did anymore trick plays after that. The offense became rather boring and predictable. That's one thing I like about this offense- it's neither boring or predictable and is fun to watch.
