ABOUT THE MATCHUP
UTSA and Southern Miss met five times a year ago, including twice in the C-USA Tournament in Biloxi, Miss. The Golden Eagles ended the Roadrunners' season with a 7-1 victory in an elimination game. This took place just two days after UTSA opened the championship with a 9-2 victory over Southern Miss.

The Golden Eagles have won eight of the last 10 matchups between the two teams, including a three-game sweep the last time the two teams met in Hattiesburg, which was in 2016.

Southern Miss leads the all-time series, 11-5, which dates back to the 2014 campaign.
