So are y'all giddy about the Ellis Johnson firing?*

I don't think I would use the word giddy. I would say that I fully expected him to get fired at Auburn. I also would say that I wish him nothing but the worst in his professional life after what he did to destroy our program. And that has nothing to do with his record, it's how he went about doing it. I hear the people at Auburn are very upset with him refusing to decline his buyout. He's the first in their history to ever do it they say. I say they should have done their homework. If they had, they would have known what a dishonest jerk they were getting. They didn't so they are having to pay.

Mama always said giddy is like a box of chocolates and I got chocolate coated giddy. It gives me pleasure that Johnson's career will be best remembered for his failure at Auburn and his incompetence at USM will be better known.

Very accurate post.

Giddy is not the word that comes to mind. I am really amazed how he has made a fortune off of poor performance. Not too many people are able to pull something like this off. 2 jobs + multiple fires= "millionaire". I got to hand it to him, he has set himself up for a great retirement.

what does 'refusing to decline his buyout' mean?

his contract with auburn was guaranteed through 2017... he was still owed ~2.2 million

No.

Our program is still beyond terrible.

Ellis Johnson will get paid almost $2 million to do absolutely nothing next year.

My thoughts on Loser Johnson...

I think that on one hand, he is a genius. I wish I could get fired twice for incompetence and be set for life.

On the other hand, I think that he has finally been exposed on a national level. Yeah, he sucked here and was fired, but he got another job with a high profile team. He then got fired again, but this time it is national news, more so than when we fired him.

That's over four million dollars that everyone knows he is getting for being terrible. He has committed career suicide. No high profile team will pick him up. No one will hire him as a HC. I could see him landing a DC job at some little, bitty school, but his days as a big name coach are done.

He pulled the wool over Auburn's eyes and got caught. I hope that my thoughts are accurate.

Re: My thoughts on Loser Johnson...

I think it is 4.1 million combined between the 2 schools. 4.1 million to NOT coach. If he is upset, he's crying all the way to the bank.

This is par for the course with this guy

This is par for the course with Ellis. He always seems to push for contracts with heavy exit terms that favor his firing. Then seems to get fired and sue or threatens lawsuit for money owed. Hopefully at this point in his career, other universities will finally his true colors.
