The football season opened tonight in Northwest Florida, and the rest of the state. I took in the Escambia vs West Florida game, and payed close attention to Jabir Frye, running back/athelete for EHS. The kid is a player. Played on both sides of the ball, returned kicks and punts, took a few snaps under center. Lanny had mentioned earlier this Summer that we were interested in the kid. I hope we will continue to pursue him. This game was between two conference champions from last season that were expected to compete for a playoff spot again this year. The game was dominated by Escambia, though turnovers and penalties kept the scoring low. Final 16-7 Escambia, nice road win. Frye rushed for 103 and a touchdown, returned an interception on a fake punt 80 yards for a TD....think I saw him selling popcorn at half time. Keep your ears open about this kid.
