Another season is drawing to a close and another disappointing end. As in football, many had high hopes for Men's Basketball as well. With two experienced guards as a base, Harris, and some bright newcomers, expectations seemed to point to a run for the top spot in the SBC. Now the season is all but over with a dismal 9-13 record and only a chance to win five more games and end the season with a 14-17 year. Not acceptable.
Everyone is aware of what happened. Turnerovers, coupled with poor shooting and coaching, led to the abyss. I did not watch the last game and, frankly, will avoid the remaining. Our program must be recast as it was with football. Otherwise, the "wait until baseball" slogan will dwell long into the future.
