It felt like a fait accompli that we would lose last night. I cannot imagine

what our players must be going through knowing that no matter what they did they would lose. If we had scored to make it close, or to go ahead, we would have been flagged. It is grossly unfair, unjust, and undeniably corrupt. And it's not just the phantom calls, its also the 'no calls' when UT held, or targeted, or interfered etc. And we have no recourse but to bend over and take it. We get a million bucks so we pay our coaches with that one game. Sigh.

I have to believe that the staff believes Keon is our best option, or Griggs is hurt. I cannot accept that the staff would lose on purpose by not playing the better player. If this is so, then the AD must fire Hopson. Dawson is gone. He is a freebie anyway, still getting paid by UK. But Hopson, for whatever reason, thought Keon was our guy and clearly we know he wasn't. I have to believe there is more to
Griggs injury than we think. To think otherwise draws us to an inexplicable conclusion.

In any event, we "should" be able to man up and beat Rice and Charlotte. It looks like 7-5 is our best possible record, though I take not even them for granted. After all, didn't Charlotte beat UAB?

Griggs came in a delivered the only drive that did not involve chunking it up and hoping for a jump ball catch, you tell me who honestly gives the team the best shot to win? Piss poor coaching decisions again

Is anyone satisfied with a 7 - 5 record. If a 7 - 5 record is ok as well as 6 - 6 record then Hopson is your man.

Not in C-USA. With our schedule, 7-5 means you either lost 2 non-conference + 3 of 8 C-USA games........or.........you lost an additional cream puff non-conference game + 2 C-USA games. Neither of these should be acceptable.
Unless we are loading up the non-con schedule with biggies, then 7-5 is not respectable.

The conference is pretty good this year. Ten teams could have a winning record by the end of the season. Hopson messed up big time not starting Griggs. He would have 2 additional non-conference wins.

About the comment with regards to thinking the coaches would purposely play Keon knowing Griggs is the better player - I’m not a conspiracy theorist, but I did hear Hop on the Eagle Hotline show say, “Yeah we will go with Griggs I think he knows what’s expected now...” He seemed to be implying something like Griggs hasn’t been wont play till he “gets on board.” Did any of you guys hear him make that comment?

Interesting, I didn't hear it. I think, or thought, or assumed, that when a player shows up with a cast on his hand and a boot on his foot he really can't play....then he gets put in for a series or two, thus risking a re-injury. This has been an odd year for sure.

Maybe he meant, "...he knows what to expect now..." or something along those lines. I didn't hear the show, so I have no idea about the tone or context.

I got from Hop’s statement that he hoped Griggs had “learned his lesson” but I very well could be wrong. I don’t know who may have been listening and heard him make that comment.
