I personally don't like having a DC as HC in this league...slow and plodding reminds me too much of ELLLLLLLLLLLLOS. I understand the reason though wanting to keep the coach staff together. This situation reminds me of the Illinois coaching debable of the coach being fired right before the season beginning, then the interim was named HC at the end of the year. The interim coach was only offered a 2 year contract, though(I wouldn't see that happening though here). Trying to make the best out of bad situation. All I can say is the offense better not miss a beat even if a DC becomes HC.

I think the AD and his committee will certainly discuss those issues. Dave will certainly use the same OC that Monken left him, coach Woz, and the philosophy won't change unless coach Duggan cuts off his nose to despite his face, like Ellis Johnson. I wonder who he will choose to be his new DC assuming he gets the job? Lytrel has been around a long time but he has never been a DC. I think Randy Butler will get bumped up to a position coach but not DC, so maybe he brings in someone else.
I doubt the AD gives him a short contract like the example above, but I think he gets a good bit less money. He makes around 200,000 so maybe he gets 500,000 and the staff gets good bumps and you fill his contract with really lucrative incentives. That's what I would do, I doubt we ever give away the store like we did with Ellis. But I am frequently wrong.

Like I said on another board, there are more angles to this thing than a can of worms. Well, that's not exactly what I said, but it does "strangle up my mind".
