Hearing NO Bowl is a done deal.

This one say HI with no CUSA team going to NO. https://www.google.com/amp/www.sbna...ge-football-playoff-predictions?client=safari For some reason they think CUSA would trade NO for Orlando. I think the payout is bigger for Orlando so money wise that would be a good deal
This says HI also but there is no way LA Tech will go to NO 3 years in a row. I think our top two teams will go to Dallas and Boca Raton. ODU is going to the eastern island UTSA will go to New Mexico. That would leave us and MTSU. They went to an island last year so I am thinking they go to NO and we are off to HI. Not sure where N Texas falls in. Bowl trades would change my thinking

A while back our A D said that the bowls have the major say. I think that N O would really want us and our fans. I really want the N O Bowl too and I'm sure that is a major factor they are considering. lol SMTTT

Yes I think you are right but The CUSA has a role and MTSU stepped up last year to take the Bahamas Bowl and the conference must respect their fan base. I guess UTSA could take HI but then neither USM or MTSU will travel there. Then between USM and MTSU who goes to NM.

Per ESPN:
R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl
Mercedes-Benz Superdome, New Orleans
9 p.m. Dec. 17 (ESPN)
Schlabach: Louisiana Lafayette (6-6 if beat ULM) vs. Southern Miss
McMurphy: Troy vs. Southern Miss

I like see the N.O. Bowl against ULL. The Ragin Cajuns and USM being long time rivals the place should be rocking.

In not a fan of the NO bowl but at least we get a bowl. I was hoping for the Indy or Boca Raton bowl. Playing ULL likely means we will be outnumbered at the game.

More importantly, it means there will be people in the stands and the dome will have a little bit of atmosphere. And it means we will play a team we can beat.

No disrespect intended because you are right in the fact that "the air" in the atmosphere will be competitive. I just fear that people watching in America will call this the "pillow fight of the year." Every Sunbelt school IMO is considered the "homecoming game" team to most around the country. Of course, this may be true of CUSA now. But regardless my family and I will be there and I hope we get the win to extend our winning seasons to 2 -straight and send this team off on a good note.

"The path to the postseason for the Cajuns (5-6, 4-3) is clearer. A win Saturday would lock up one of the Sun Belt’s five bowl berths, almost certainly its tie-in with the New Orleans Bowl. UL-Lafayette, which won four straight New Orleans Bowls from 2011-14, with a win Saturday is in line to face Southern Miss (6-6), sources told The Advocate, in the 8 p.m. Dec. 17 contest in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome."

If you don't want to wait in line at Acme, try Felix's for raw or charred oysters, they go great with a draft Abita Purple Haze. Galatoire's is open at 1130 on Sat. and noon on Sun, reservations recommended and no blue jeans etc.

Team hotel? Hyatt Regency is next to the dome with a connected parking garage. Hyatt is currently $179/night including full-force breakfasts, which is around $23/per person separately.
