Same here....but one thing I've learned after following Golden Eagle athletics is that more often than not they underperform. The best baseball team USM ever had was the 2003 team. It could have won a national championship that year. It had TWO 23 homerun hitters on that team, flawless pitching, etc. The most telling sign of how good they were was I remember one Sunday on the USM campus there was a baseball game. Sundays were typically a day on campus where there was NOTHING going on and NO ONE was there...suitcase college USM. You could ntfind a parking place at the Pete, on Turk circle around Reed Green, frat row, on a Sunday bc of how good this team was!!! Alas USM faced the best team in SWAC history Southern University. No problem right? Wrong! Golden Spikes winner Rickie Weeks who playing for the Milwaukee Brewers 3 months later future Chicago White Sox pitcher Dewon Day defeated USM 5-3. I found out about after grabbing a newspaper in Dallas while traveing on a Greyhound. I thought it was a misprint. No it wasn't. This is just one example of great letdowns.
