D1 Digest: Friday's Rogers Wrap • D1Baseball
Friday night in college baseball was wild with a Kansas State no-hitter, Miami's Daniel Cuvet dominating, and Texas' bats going bonkers.

— It is funny how things work out sometimes. Earlier today, I did a chat on X and some of the questions I received were from USM fans worried about their offensive lineup. The concerns were warranted, but I also made the point that it’s early in the season and the Golden Eagles had plenty of guys who had been struggling but who also had strong track records of success. Well, everything came together for Oz’s bunch Friday night in a 9-4 win over Louisiana Tech. On the bump, righthanded pitcher Niko Mazza was outstanding yet again, striking out seven and allowing just a run on six hits in five innings, while offensively, the top four hitters in the USM lineup combined for 11 of the team’s 12 hits. That includes a pair of homers and four RBIs from Billy Butler and homers from Slade Wilks, Nick Monistere and Dalton McIntyre. It’s just one game, but I love how everything came together for the Golden Eagles in this win. It could be the start of a hellacious run.
