HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- The Southern Miss men's basketball team begins its 2017-18 season on Friday at 7 p.m. against Southern-New Orleans. Military personnel will receive one free ticket with their military ID card in honor of Veterans Day.

The action can be found on CUSA.tv as well as through the Southern Miss IMG Sports Network and USM Gameday app. Season and single-game tickets can be purchased by visiting SouthernMissTickets.com, calling 1-800-844-TICK or stopping by the Pat Ferlise Center during normal business hours.

Take a look at some key numbers to get ready for the season.

1: Senior on the 2017-18 squad (D'Angelo Richardson). The last Southern Miss team to have one or no seniors was in 2006-07. LA Tech, FIU and Charlotte are the only other C-USA teams with one senior.

3: Points that Richardson averaged over four overtime periods last season, including hitting the buzzer-beating three-pointer against FIU that essentially sealed a C-USA Tournament berth.

3: Number of times that a Golden Eagle had eight assists or more in a game last season, all from returnees (Cortez Edwards at UTSA, Edwards vs. Rice, Kevin Holland vs. Tulane)

4: Seasons that head coach Doc Sadler has been at the helm, with Southern Miss improving its C-USA win total each year. The Golden Eagles have also had a better rebounding margin in each of those seasons.

5: Blocks that Tim Rowe had against South Alabama on Nov. 30, the most by a Golden Eagle since Gary Flowers in 2009. Rowe averaged 9.9 points and 6.4 rebounds per game before suffering a season-ending injury in mid-December.

5-for-5: Holland's three-point shooting against Tulane on Dec. 10, tying a school record (100 percent, minimum five attempts). Only three others in C-USA had perfect nights on five or more tries.

8: Out of the final 10 home contests that Southern Miss shot 50 percent or better in a half.

12: Seasons that first-year assistant coach Steve Shields served as the head coach of Little Rock. He took the Trojans to the 2011 NCAA Tournament and is their all-time leader in wins.

12: Seasons that first-year director of basketball operations Omar Thomas played professionally before entering the coaching ranks this spring. He was also a star for Sadler at UTEP, finishing in 2005.

12: Assists that transfer Tyree Griffin had in a 2016 game at No. 2 Kansas while serving as the starting point guard at Oklahoma State. It was the most by a Cowboy since 2004.

19: Combined assists (8) and rebounds (11) that Edwards had at UTSA on Feb. 9, the best-such combo by a Golden Eagle since 2013.

29: Points that transfer Dominic Magee scored in his collegiate debut for Grand Canyon in Dec. 2015.

30: Games Eddie Davis III played last season after injuries prevented him to just 13 his first two seasons at Southern Miss.

35.9: Minutes-average that Cortez Edwards had in C-USA play last season, ranking fifth in the league.

46: Points that freshman LaDavius Draine scored in one first half as a senior at Calhoun City HS.

60.7: Field goal percentage in the second half of the Golden Eagles' 91-76 win over eventual league runner-up Marshall on Feb. 2. Southern Miss ended the night on a 38-15 run, which included a 14-1 spurt.

74.7: Free-throw percentage for Southern Miss in league games last season, which ranked fourth in C-USA, that also served as a nine-point improvement from non-conference play.

205: Consecutive minutes for Holland without committing a turnover to end the 2016-17 season.
