Birdyshaw committed to Southern Miss a few weeks ago following an unofficial visit to the campus.
“It really wasn't a whole lot of recruiting,” Birdyshaw said. “I had been talking to Coach Woz and he invited me down for a visit because I missed their Jr. Day.”
