Should he fire some assistants? I do not know about that one as it was Juan Cardona who saved his job in 2022-2023. Maybe Ladner can fire the other assistants but I am not sure that will matter much unless the new assistants can pull in a key recruit with them.
I am not sure the non-conference schedule can be lightened up much more than it is already. Southern Miss is already playing multiple NAIA schools every season.
Better luck/talent evaluation in the transfer portal will probally be the key factor in how the season will go next year.
