When I was living in Arkansas, an ivory billed woodpecker, which thought to be extinct, was spotted. Nature tends to be more resilant than given credit. I always laugh when it was said that spotted owl could live in a certain wooded habitat. The spotted owl basically said I'll show you and was spotted living in a Kmart sign!
