How Arkansas State is keeping Blake Anderson

"Arkansas State athletic director Terry Mohajir said the coaching turnover played a large factor in in Anderson's contract, a five-year, $700,000 annual agreement that includes a buyout of $3 million for the first two years. The buyout tapers to $2 million in the third and fourth years, and then to $1 million in the final year.Arkansas State athletic director Terry Mohajir said the coaching turnover played a large factor in in Anderson's contract, a five-year, $700,000 annual agreement that includes a buyout of $3 million for the first two years. That's not going to keep big P5 schools from getting their man if they want him. But I do think it keeps him from leaving for a job in the American Conference, or lower level P5 schools

Interesting Vintage Pennant

I know some of you, like me, collect vintage USM stuff. I have a couple of Mississippi Southners pennants but this one is a little different. It's a 1973 pennant that has both "Golden Eagles" and General Nat on it. These were printed and sold on campus for a brief period then boxed up and stored because General Nat was no longer the Mascot. Comes with a printed history which is pretty cool, and because they were boxed the entire time they are pretty much like new. Even better they are $15.

Keys to the Game

These two are about as evenly matched and similar as you will ever see. I think this game could be a classic.

Keys to the game

Turnovers . Who creates them , wins the game. Pressure on QB . Got to bust their QB in the mouth often and early . Our DB"s have to jam their Receivers and DL has to get QB off his spot.

Bend don't break. field goals are not going to win the game.

Breakdowns in special teams, tight games often turn on a big play here. .

We have played 6 good ones in a row. Do we have one more in us ?

So proud!

What a great time to be a Golden Eagle.
I'm stoked about the basketball team. Listened to the game at work, (well, heard some of it... work is so demanding) and I'm very happy with Doc and the team. Doc WILL make us all proud. Hang in there, guys. It's a process, and we are on absolute bottom, but we will rise.
Working tomorrow, too, so I'll try to catch a few plays from the championship. It sucks, but it's a great blessing to have a job. Working Sunday, so I'll miss the North Dakota St. game at the Green House, too.
Even better, I'm working the 26th, so I'll miss the bowl game.
My DVR will be putting in overtime.

I expect victory tomorrow. The Nasty Bunch will show up big.
But win or lose, what a great year. We got the early season bugs worked out, the coaches and players have made huge progress.
Next year, I hope we shatter season-ticket records, and Eagle Club records as well.
To The Top, my friends. Together.
Whoohooo, Mercy.

OT: LSU had sticker shock and kept Lester

According to a Dr Saturday article, LSU was actually negotiating with Fisher before they realized the bottom line was more than they thought it would be. We have all heard about Miles buyout, but the total cost was too much for even an ESPN league team.

"Fisher makes $5 million per year and has a buyout of $5 million. He likely would have been given a multiyear contract paying him more than $5 million per season. A new coaching staff likely would have cost the school another $5 million.

The final price tag to part ways with Miles and hire Fisher was more than $30 million. The figure “shocked” Alexander and other officials. Some fought for the coach because of their relationship with him."
