Coach buys senior players suits for first job interviews

© Provided by Sporting NewsA lot of college players' football careers end when their senior season comes to an end. While a fortunate few go on to the NFL, the vast majority look for careers in different places.
AdChoices But as they depart from football, these players will always have the strong bonds they made in the sport with their peers — and their coach. Strengthening that bond is Southern Miss coach Todd Monken, who gave his 18 seniors a gift they can use past their football careers.
Suits.“I’ve always thought, ‘What could we do for our departing seniors that they can take with them?’” Monken said to the Hattiesburg American. “Something beyond their memories. And so (the suits) are really for their first (job) interview.”
Monken, who was named Conference USA Coach of the Year this season, has now bought his seniors suits in three consecutive years. It's an idea he started in 2013 as sort of a loophole around an NCAA rule, according to CBS Sports. There's apparently an NCAA rule that states a school can purchase a gift for a student-athlete if that gift is needed for an event. Monken started an end-of-the-year banquet and said the suits were for that.
“You try to do things that the NCAA allows you to do to help your players,” Monken said in 2013. “I think there's something to when you get dressed up. It makes you feel better. It makes you feel more professional. Some of these guys hadn't gotten suits fitted before.”
It's certainly a nice tradition Monken has going for his players.

Bowl ticket delimma

More than ever, I want to step up and support our Eagles. The problem I have is that we just buried my favorite(92 yo) aunt yesterday. In addition to that, my 98 yo mother is not expect to surviev more than a couple weeks. Those things, among others will prevent me from attending the bowl in Dallas.

If I could get my wishes, I would find someone who wouldn't go to the bowl game unless they had tickets. I do not want to buy tickets for Greenwood, 70, Iron and such, but I sure would buy tickets for someone who would not otherwise go. I do not have a number in mind. Anyone have any suggestion?

Need opinions

Before the season, I was sitting at the EagleFest meeting at the Convention Center. Monken or McGillis or someone asked "who's got season tickets". I raised my hand, and had excruciating pain in my upper right arm. Like breathtaking pain. It subsided, but then when we were headed to the car, I turned my arm a "certain way" and I almost went to my knees.
That's been about 17 weeks or so ago.
The pain has been basically constant since then, but never on the level of the initial pain. A few weeks ago a nurse practitioner said it is tendinitis. I was convinced it was a torn rotator cuff.
It kills me at night. I wake up at least once an hour.
During the day, it may not bother me much all day long, unless I turn my arm a "certain way". Thing is, that "certain way" changes seemingly from week to week. Sometimes there's pain in the wrist, sometimes the shoulder, but 90% seems to be in the bicep area.
I got in from work at about 10:45 tonight. I was playing with the dog, who was excited to see me. I juked left, then planted my foot on a plastic coat hanger. Down goes Frazier. Hard. All 220 pounds fell forward, and I planted my right hand against the wall to break my fall. My shoulder exploded. I didn't really even feel the pain for a minute. I just couldn't breathe. I literally couldn't talk. Then the pain came in waves. My wrist hurts like hell, but my shoulder is like it's own little world of pain... new kinds of pain that I've not met before.
I have been taking 12 ibuprofen a day for about a month solid.

I'm wondering if I might have some sort of tumor or something. Sometimes it seems like tendinitis, but I just can't see 17 weeks of tendinitis.
