Munz article on Spring Camp

Mostly about everyone anxious to get started. Zac Woodfin said that everyone was doing really well and he was excited to see some of the JC wide receivers. "Those guys have come in here and done things the right way. Ito Smith has had an unbelievable six or seven weeks of training and he's up to about 200 pounds where last year he played about 185 or 188."
I am also anxious to see what 2016 has in store for the Golden Eagles.

OT: Flooding in MS....

I just saw where Hwy 589 toward has been crumbled up like a cookie from Munz's twittter. I also see were the water is nearly at Hwy 49 bridge. I can only assume that there have been people impacted, and replacing the roads can't be cheap. I knew it was bad when the NWS used purple in their graphics to describe the flooding where I had never seen that color in any of their graphics to describe a weather event.

Doc Sadler and Arkansas St.

We all heard these rumors pop up a few weeks back...

Last night I had a chance to talk with someone very close to Sadler and this is what I learned. Sadler was contacted by someone representing ASU (my source didn't give a name) to gauge his interest in the job. My source tells me that Sadler decline to discuss the opportunity.

My source, not Sadler, thinks that ASU may have some unknowns with their basketball situation similar to what Sadler walked into at Southern Miss.

So it looks like there wasn't any fire with that smoke.

Apologies to Gulf Coast Eagle Fans

I want to take a moment to apologize to Gulf Coast Eagle Fans.

I was scheduled to be the speaker for today's Eagle Club Luncheon in Gulfport. I completely forgot about it and did not make the trip to the coast.

I have no excuses, I have no reason for not making the trip, this is 100% on me as I just did not write it down or put it on my calendar.

I am very sorry and if given the opportunity I will make it up to ya'll in the future.

Fox and CUSA.....

WV newspaper reporting Fox will not bid on new CUSA TV contract. Could be a case of Fox having first refusal rights, like ESPN did in the last go round. I see that as a lack of interest, or at the very least we are not high on the Fox priority list. Fewer bidders only fuels a lower bid.

Also seems like we didn't actually earn the 14 million we were paid in 2013-14 from TV. Tax reports show we were only paid 10.44 million from our TV partners. With the gap being filled from departed CUSA programs.

TV contract

Word is FOX did not even bid ( no verification yet).
This would effectually put our TV revenues at $0. ASN would be our primary (only?), but they don't pay anything as of yet.
So, instead of being cut in half, our contract would be exposure only with no money.
Already announced earlier the CBS was not bidding.

We "dodged the bullet" on this one ...

I know there have been a number of comments on this, but it made the the front page of the SunHerald this morning. Sorry for Jacquelle but now I'm ok that we didn't sign him. Wonder what makes kids do stuff like this?
