Quick Site Update....

I just wanted to give you all a reason for the few articles put out the last week or so. With the bowl game being so late and signing day running right up to bowl practice, we didn't get much of a break around Christmas at all. We will be back at it again with basketball and baseball being a month away. Just giving you all a heads up. Thanks for everything and #SMTTT

Who’s on your list for next HC??

Here are some names I threw out on the other board...in addition to these I’ve seen Steve Sarkisian and Phil Longo mentioned.
Rhett Lashlee - just hired as Miami OC from SMU

Jeff Lebby - just joined Kiffin’s staff at Ole Miss as OC from UCF; son-in-law of Art Briles and was in staff at Baylor under Briles

Kendall Briles - just joined Arkansas staff as OC making $1.1 million per year

Bill Bedenbaugh - co-OC and OL coach at Oklahoma

Pete Golding - Co-DC at Bama makes $1 million per year

Joe Brady - Passing game coord/co-OC at LSU; in contract negotiations and will likely make $1.5 million

Larry Fedora - wants to be HC again

Todd Monken - worth a shot!!

Mark Hudspeth - I know no one likes him but he did win big this year at Austin Peay

John Grass - Jacksonville St HC had a rough year this year but has won 9+ in his previous 4 seasons including playing for the championship....on the Bill Clark coaching tree

K.C. Keeler - HC at Sam Houston St... a bit of a stretch because he is 60 and while he has won everywhere he’s been he also has a down season here and there

Major Applewhite - analyst at Bama; has HC experience and has learned under Saban and co for the past 2 years

Time to grade the 2015 football signee class....

I had trouble finding a list on the official site other than the December 2014 signees. Rivals did have a signee list combining the December 2014 and Spring 2015 signees. The Rivals list I have found linked below has 23 signees. 7 played a lot, 7 played a little, and 9 played very little or not at all. 10 were JC transfers. 5 of the JC transfers played a lot, 3 played a little, and 2 played little or not at all. If my memory is correct, 2 freshman signees played 4 years with no red-shirt and finished playing after the 2018 season. Only 2 freshman signees were still around to play on the 2019 team, Drake Dorbeck and Ty Pollard.

A little Basketball recruiting info.....

For those that didn't know Jay went to Europe, actually to the Get Better Academy where Artur came from, and the Eagles offered a 7'1 C a scholly. From what I was told, he is a classic European big who can shoot, has great footwork, and knows how to pass. Smart move by Jay, if he has the same skills Artur has then he will be a good one.

A look back at 2019 in Southern Miss Athletics

Well, one thing is for sure, 2019 was one heck of a roller coaster ride for fans of Southern Miss Athletics. For the purpose of this article, we will stick to the big 3 revenue producing sports, football, baseball, and basketball. We will also be looking at basketball under head coach Doc Sadler and not the few games played in 2019 under new head coach Jay Ladner. 2 sports made postseason play but all 3 were eligible. So, lets take a look back at 2019 and grade each sport.

I would love to know your thoughts on this, so in the thread below, let your thoughts be known.
